Financial Aid FAQ

Yes, we award over $4 million in scholarship support to nearly 100% of our on-campus students each year. Scholarship support is available to both on-campus and online students. The application for admission will automatically consider you for scholarship support.
You will receive a scholarship award notification at or around the time you are admitted to the program.
Financial Aid Packages are created after you are admitted to the Mandel School and you have completed both the FAFSA and the CWRU Financial Aid Form. The financial aid packages are sent out via e-mail as soon as the determination is made.
Scholarships and loans are applied to tuition and fees first. If your award exceeds your account balance, you may request an advance on your financial aid up to $1,000 the week before classes begin. Request forms are available here. Regular refund checks are generated after the first week of class. Refunds are sent through direct deposit so use these instructions.
No. There is no graduate housing on Case Western Reserve University’s campus. The CWRU Office of Housing and Residence Life compiles an off-campus housing rental information for CWRU students, faculty, and staff. The Admissions office can consult with you on convenient locations and assist in connecting you with fellow students for roommates.
After you receive your Official Award Letter from the Office of University Financial Aid, all notifications about your award will only be sent to your Case e-mail address. This is the way the university communicates with students, so check your e-mail often!
